Tree Cabling and Bracing
This service is a preventative measure to help eliminate the risk of large branches falling from the tree due to weak crotches. Two or more large branches growing away from the same point cause great strain on the tree. Cabling involves the installation of steel cables between major limbs to reduce the strain and help support the tree. Cabling also helps reduce stress from high winds and the excess weight of ice or snow.
For large, weak, or split crotches, bracing is used to give direct support and reduce twisting strain on the tree. A metal rod is inserted through the crotch and two more cables are placed above it.
